Dear Friend,
I have been extremely encouraged in
the Lord lately! Not only have I been seeing God work miracles among His people during
church services, but with others within the community. It's exciting to see the Hand of
God moving!
I contracted some concrete work to be done at my home recently. I
discovered one evening that all the work had been completed upon entering my driveway. The
contractor and his helper were cleaning up and returning equipment to their trucks. I
quickly noticed that the contractor was painfully nursing a swollen hand and wrist. He
said he had injured it earlier in the day and was unable to move it. Whether it was broken
or not we couldn't tell. I asked if I could pray for him. With a bewildered look on his
face he said, "Yeah, sure." So we did just that.
His response was rather amusing as we stood there and talked
awhile. You see, I knew that he believed in Christ, but he knew nothing about me. He began
to testify of the numerous miraculous healings that he had received during his lifetime.
The ring that he had to take off was placed back on his finger. One thing that you must
understand about Southerners...we speak alot with our hands. Excitement came to the face
that was earlier grimaced with obvious discomfort! A discovery had been made! He could
still speak in the Southern fashion! God had healed his wrist while we talked! He smiled
as he said, "Guess ah won't haf ta go to dat doctor in da mornin' after all!"
You ever felt like you were being set up by God? Expect it. It
seems to be pretty regular in my life. He will do something that you know that no one else
could have done. But what I may be completely unaware of is that He decides - without
asking I might add - that a pattern has been set! We've got to understand something about
God...He knows that He is God. You see...He's the potter...and we're
the...well...um...clay. That means He shapes us into what He wants. How uncomfortable.
The Lord had spoken to me last week to tell the concrete man
story to my chiropractor. So I did just that. He had injured his "wrist" (same
hand) playing softball on his church league weeks earlier. He did all the natural things
that he could do, but swelling and pain kept it uncomfortable. His wrist is his trade. As
I told the story his face lit up as he hung on every word. A loud "Yes" was
heard by everyone in his office as I asked him if I could pray for him. We prayed and
thanked God for a miracle. He patted me on the back and said, "That's the kindest
thing anyone has ever done for me!". He later told me that His wrist was instantly healed!
I've said all that to ask this question. Are you ready to see
miracles come from your hands? That's what God is preparing His church for right now!
That's why it seems like the devil is having his way. God is just exposing him so that He
can deal with him! He's removing the chaff from the wheat! He's separating the goat
mentality from the sheep! He's dividing the mediocrity out of His believers!
To God
miracles are normal! Who is waiting upon the kindness of the Lord to shown toward them?
Who needs a touch from a loving Savior? It was not my touch that made the difference, but
that I was available to heed the voice of God. That's been my heart's desire since I was
born-again well over twenty years ago. But don't think for one moment that I didn't have to push
past fear...because I did. Over the years, I have discovered something about the fear that
arises at times like these...right on the other side is the biggest, untapped flow of the
power of God I've ever experienced. Get ready! He's coming and His reward is with
him...miracles, signs and wonders!
Until we meet again, we are...
