Dear
Friend,
1998 is almost here! I am excited about new
opportunities for the body of Christ! I believe that we're getting
ready to walk over a threshold of "New Beginnings"! God
has been preparing us for this day! We're in some of the most
exciting days of the Church! Can you see the transition that is
being made right in front of us?! Here's a thought for pondering as
we enter this new year...
Proverbs 12:27 reads, "A slothful
man does not roast his prey, But the precious possession of a man is
diligence." A slothful man is one who pursues relentlessly
to obtain, but once he possesses that which he desires, will not
take the time to follow through. We can seek God with undying hunger
for His outpouring in our lives, but do we continue after we've
obtained a measure of success? The church is full of people who
started out good, but what about finishing?
Our
focus is to be the call that our Lord has given us. "Therefore,
brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election
sure", 2 Peter 1:10. Many are called and but few are
commissioned. Why not stand out from the crowd of those who aren't
diligent? That's my desire! To be one who finishes! Not just
starting out good, but finishing good! What is diligence? Having a
steady, earnest, energetic application. Doing something with all
your heart and not stopping until your done.
Many
have sought revival with more thought on signs rather than lasting
fruit. Many are seeking the giftings of God without any thought of
their relationship with the Gift-giver. 1998 shall be a year that
God begins showing the world the hidden treasure within the Church.
Demonstration of the kingdom of God is on the agenda for '98! We
have talked long enough. Now, it's our time for action!
This is a day for the Church to arise and take her place! Our hour
of influence is at hand! Hearts are being released for harvest. When
the world becomes dark the glory of God will arise and shine upon
us! Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him
who sent Me, and to finish His work", John 4:34. Let us
cry out for the finishing anointing! This is our year! Walk into it
with confidence knowing that our God has called us for such a time
as this!
Until we meet again, we are...
