Dear Friend,
Our spiritual
growth depends on our faithfulness in our discipline of the basic
things like prayer, study of the Scriptures and assembling with
other believers. These things must be done to in order to have
individual growth. God is progressive and so are the things of the
spirit. What we do on a daily basis determines our growth and
progression on a personal level. Personal growth lends itself to the
corporate growth of any ministry or people.
There are several keys that we must work in order to advance in
the kingdom of God. We must have FOCUS, POSITIONING and PACE. I
would like to discuss FOCUS in this first segment. Focus is primary
in moving forward in the kingdom. It's a matter of where we place
our eyes.
I will stand my watch And set myself on the
rampart, And watch to see what He will say to me, And what I will
answer when I am corrected. {2} Then the LORD answered me and said
"Write the vision And make it plain on tablets, That he may run
who reads it. Habakkuk 21-2 (NKJV)
Focus comes as we are flexible enough to allow God to speak to us
about what He wants us to do. Flexible people don't get bent out of
shape! Flexibility allows us to let Him bring plainness to our
purpose. Our response determines the clarity with which we will see.
Clarity is the definition to any direction. But in order to see with
clarity, we must first define the direction by writing the vision.
What is our purpose? Where are we headed? Who will God send to
assist? How do we accomplish it?
These things make our direction plain. Simplicity is necessary to
bring any direction from the Lord to pass. Simple things simply
done. This allows those whom God sends to assist us to be able to
run also.
The Lord spoke to me recently and said, "The horizon is
expanding! Where are you looking? At the horizon or at the
hindrances?" It's time to put on horizon eyes. If we will place
our sight on the direction we are to go in, continue focusing unto
clarity comes, and keep our focus from distraction, then we will
have one major key taken care of.
Gideon's army had horizon eyes! They knew where to look! They saw
the next realm and kept their eyes there. We must see the next realm
of God's glory for us and stay focused on it as we progress toward
it.
Where there is no vision, the people perish. Proverbs 29:18a (KJV)
Focus must be maintained! Do not lose it! Where it diminishes,
forward momentum is lost. It is kept through sustained focus and
relationship with those involved. Focus must constantly be checked
and sharpened. Horizon eyes are yours! You can make it further today
than you could yesterday! Your horizon is expanding! Go further in
Him!
Until we meet again, we are...
