Dear Friend,
You have been given access to the greatest building blocks! In your life, there are essentials needed. But do we always
take advantage of them? How many do we have in our possession? Let’s look at an area that is vital for stability.
Several years ago I was confronted with an identity crisis. My crisis was that I had a misplaced identity. It was an
experience I was not expecting at the time. The Lord knew exactly what He was doing in my life. I had yet to realize the
importance of being a son.
“As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name”
John 1:12.
I had been a full time minister for many years. I had just left my first pastorate at the Lord’s direction. The position I
had held was all I had known for seven years after coming out of business. After a short period of time, I began to
realize how detached I felt from even the closest relationships.
It was over time that I began to make the discovery for stability. I had equated my identity with my position. I realized
I was lost in my task oriented personality. I suddenly found myself with my question answered. God then spoke a command to
me, “Build your life”.
Our relationship with Christ provides everything we need. He gives us the right, the privilege, the authority to “become”.
God provides! It is up to us to apprehend what He has provided as ours and actively cultivate it into our daily lives.
Growing and becoming secure in our sonship is primary in the process of maturity. It’s not about gender. It’s all about
relationship. What I have become has transcended what I do. I could rest rather than perform tasks to be approved of God.
When it comes to knowing who we are, we must first grow in knowing Him. We receive Him and receive the power to become!
“Becoming” is vital in true spiritual ministry. Our effectiveness is not in doing. It is in our “doing” coming out of our
“being”. We are human beings not human doings. It’s what we become that makes the difference. The Apostle Paul wrote,
“by the grace of God I am what I am”.
So many times we try to accomplish Spirit results out of method. The only way to get Spirit results is by the Spirit. God
is training multitudes of believers in truly walking in the spirit in this hour. In doing so, it is important that we
realize no position or title can ever equate to our need to find acceptance and identity in Christ. This building block is
crucial.
“Being” one with Him is more important than what I can do for Him or what He can do for me. Let your heart cry out for the
oneness with the Father that you desire. Let Him cause you to “become”.
Until we meet again, we are...
